EST is the most commonly used base time zone (except maybe if you're a eurofag) and if NST would be based on EST or Central, then we may as well continue basing times on EST and call it EST.

Just leave it as EST. NST will just confuse people more than EST has.
We've been useing mainly EST anyway, Just stick with it.
